Winter makes everything appear a little differently. I really enjoy getting up into the Wahsatch this time of year as the scenery looks vastly different than it does in the spring summer and fall. It’s a great opportunity to go and feel the peace and serenity that is offered in the winter time. Less people are out there and it’s much easier to get lost in yourself.
Today, I had a couple of hours this afternoon to go and do something active. I didn’t have a lot of time to do a full on ski tour and I was by myself so I didn’t want to be too crazy. I opted to go to an area where there would hopefully be a little more traffic and where I could stay near the trail. Up Little Cottonwood Canyon I opted for the White Pine / Red Pine area. I decided I would take the White Pine fork. It was great to get out for the first time in 2017. Looking forward to more backcountry ski outings this year.
