My life and thoughts explored and documented
My Bride & Family
When I returned home I was lucky enough to be introduced to Leslie, my beloved bride, by a mutual friend. We were married in 2002 and continue to grow closer together day by day. After getting married I have rekindled my passion for the outdoor adventures as well as a love for getting out and running on the local trails of the Wasatch. My amazing wife continues to help me push my limits. I have completed a few ultra-marathons and support and crew her in all of her many ultra adventures. Together, we have had many amazing experiences and look forward to many more.
We have been blessed with four beautiful children; three gorgeous daughters and one son who is all boy! As a family, we love to travel, get outside, and explore. My children love to tour cities, visit museums, play basketball, cheer, dance, bike, rock climb, fish with daddy, hike (at least once they are on the trail) and camp. We work to keep them as active as we are able to amidst life and schedules. We would like to visit all fifty states (only 2 more to go) before they graduate from high school and experience all of the U.S. National Parks. We want to be sure that we keep our children entrenched in the outdoors lifestyle.
Traveling has brought us closer together as a family. It has helped us to understand people, cultures, and history a lot better. It has taught our children a lot. We appreciate these precious memories and look forward to the many more to come.
My Beginnings
Growing up at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains I found a love and passion for the outdoors. I started hiking, backpacking, and fishing at a very young age. I explored many of the vast areas of this great state, between camping, backpacking, hiking, fishing excursions, rock climbing, getting lost on 4 wheel trails with a 2 wheel truck and more. These things became deep passions for me and have defined who I am. I love being outside and taking my family to the great outdoors as well. I enjoy sharing my experiences and involving others in the great beauty that surrounds us. I took my passion for the outdoors into running cross country and track in high school to stay in shape for more summer activities. I learned to rock climb and do some long backpacking trips while in high school.
After high school, I went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. Louis, Missouri. This was an excellent time that continued to shape me into who I am now. I developed great abilities to foster and strengthen relationships, teach, train, speak publicly, make great friendships and root my testimony in Jesus Christ.
Professional Background
I have years of experience in strategy through financial consulting, web development, and marketing. The past decade I have spent working in the world of online marketing and strategy. I continue to work to keep myself up on the latest trends, technologies, and services that are available for marketing, digital commerce, and social media. These things have become a passion for me as I work to piece together the best ways to properly grow a brand in today’s marketplace. In the summer of 2009, my business direction took a little bit of a change when I approached my cousin, Golden Harper, for a new pair of running shoes. He then introduced me to the concept of cushioned Zero Drop running shoes. We then founded Altra and never looked back.
As a co-founder and director of marketing for Altra Running, I was able to connect with runners, triathletes, fitness enthusiasts and other endurance athletes on a regular basis. Actively competing and enjoying endurance sports as well as promoting Altra, I found a love for the social aspect of the running culture.Â
Since moving on from Altra, I have kept myself busy in many of my own pursuits as well as finishing up my education. Along with graduating with a B.S. in Philosophy at Utah Valley University and a Master of Business Creation at the University of Utah, I have continued to follow the entrepreneur passions. I am currently working to direct marketing and sales strategy with Cinch, a marketing automation software targeted at retail and service industries.Â
My background is in marketing and strategy. I am passionate about strategy. I want to work to solve the problems that we are facing as a society to help move businesses and humanity forward. Since a young age, I have been great at putting puzzles together and continue to do so today in my marketing efforts.
My Hobbies
My professional life is a small part of who I am. As you have read, I love to be outdoors and spend time with my family. I love to travel. I love to see new places. With Altra, I was able to travel to some great places and see many wonderful things. I have since been able to share these places with my family. In my spare time I continue to enjoy spending time with my wife, supporting her as she competes as an elite triathlete and ultra runner, enjoying my 4 children, photographing great places, running, fly-fishing, rock climbing, snowshoeing, hiking, backpacking, and virtually anything outside. As a native to the Wasatch Front, I have found a great passion for exploring the nearby mountain ranges and blue-ribbon trout streams. I look forward to many more epic adventures.
I look forward to connecting with you.
Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

A Covenant of Peace
